When local homeowners reach out to Pensacola Heating and Air for their heating and cooling needs, they are connecting with nearly a half century of expertise and community engagement.
“We’re third generation air conditioning people so we have seen and worked on just about everything,” said Anthony Yates, current owner of the family-run enterprise. “We’re locals, and we stand behind our work.”
The story of Pensacola Heating and Air is a shining example of a small, family-owned business that has thrived for generations. The business dates to before 1974 when Yate’s uncle ran the shop. In the 1980s, this father assumed leadership, and then, in the 1990s, Yates picked up the mantle.
When you call Pensacola Heating and Air, odds are Yates or his wife, Kathy, will pick up the phone.
“I actually started working in the industry at about the age of 14. I’m a little fellah, so they would have me crawl into attics, under trailers and whatnot,” Yates said. “I did other things, but I’d always come back to air conditioning. My father always told me, ‘Boy, there is one thing people in Pensacola, Florida, aren’t going to do without – air condition.’”
Pensacola Heating and Air provides service in Pensacola, Perdido Key and the north end of Escambia County, as well as Pace and Milton. The company services all makes and models of heating and cooling systems, offering annual checkups, 21-point inspections, total system replacement, upfront pricing, emergency services and more.
“We’re strictly residential, mobile home, central heating and air,” Yates said, “We think that’s our natural fit with service and repair.”
Yates said many customers in our area are often faced with whether to replace old units with more modern ones.
“Every five or six years (industry standards) change so they are forcing the customers to replace the whole systems, changing types of freon and stuff like that,” he said. “When I was growing up, you only had to take one jug of freon. Now you’ve got to take four. In 2023, all of that’s going to change again.”
However, Pensacola Heating and Air is prepared to help customers maintain their existing system or, when the time is right, replace it. For more information about Pensacola Heating and Air, visit pensacolaheatingandair.com or call (850) 880-4822.
